Every cook knows the exact moment it goes. The tickets stop being a list and start being a wall, the printer won't quit, and you're not cooking any more — you're just surviving the next ninety minutes. There's a phrase for it, and nobody outside the building has ever needed it: you're in the weeds.
This is that phrase, set like a sign that's been screwed to a wall since 1954 — ALL DAY in a hand-painted starburst, In The Weeds in heavy brush script, and underneath, the part that stings: SINCE THE FIRST TICKET. It never let up. It was never going to.
Printed on the Gildan 18000 heavy-blend crewneck — thick, warm, and honest about where it's going to live — in three flat inks: bone script, a hard jade drop shadow, an amber starburst. Direct-to-garment printed so the ink sits in the fabric rather than on top of it, in nine dark colorways: black, navy, maroon, dark chocolate, forest green, indigo blue, dark heather, charcoal and graphite heather. Black is the kitchen's own uniform colour, so the whole range leads dark on purpose.
This is the one that goes on when the line finally lets you go — the walk-in run, the three minutes out back, the walk home at eleven. If you're buying for a cook, it's the one that proves you were listening: it lands at a culinary-school graduation and it lands under a tree, and in both cases the right person laughs first.
