The best thing about a meeting-free afternoon is how portable it is. No one needs to circle back, no one needs to touch base, and there is not a single quick sync standing between you and a long lunch out. The laptop goes in the bag and the day goes wherever it likes.
The artwork is a rule sheet in the language of public signage. Three prohibition signs in a row, each a ring and a slash over a simple icon (a looping arrow, two hands pressing a small base, a lightning bolt), and three rules below them in tall, heavy capitals: No circling back. No touching base. No quick syncs. The icons are knocked out of the discs, so the bag itself shows through each one.
Long shoulder handles and a roomy interior, for the laptop, the charger and whatever the afternoon turns up.
It goes to the colleague who guards their calendar like a border, the partner who carries the laptop from room to room and café to café, or the friend who swapped the commute for a canvas bag and a clear schedule. Bought for yourself first, then for the person who covers your quick syncs.
Out of office. In spirit, at least.
