There's a mug for the person who likes libraries, and it has a rainbow on it. This one is for the person who runs one. PROPERTY OF THE LIBRARY typed small across the head of the card, SCHOOL LIBRARIAN struck across the middle as a full-width plate heading, four ruled lines waiting to be filled, a DATE DUE stamp pressed over them at a tilt with the broken ink bite of real rubber on paper, and KEEPER OF THE STACKS closing the foot, small and dry and earned.
The design wraps both sides, so the card reads the same whichever hand picks it up.
It's the first-week-of-school mug she buys herself, and the librarian gift that lands when the cutesy stuff hasn't, because it looks like it came out of the library.
Quiet in the stacks.
